We work towards mitigating climate change, safeguarding biodiversity and use resources more efficiently in our own operations and across our value chains.
In product development, Marimekko teams consider the quality and environmental impacts of materials – including climate, biodiversity and water use – as well as product care and recyclability.
Together with other actors, we want to promote the development of new technologies, materials and business models in the industry.In addition, developing circular-economy-based operating models together with our partners can support more efficient use of materials and resources.
Climate impacts are a significant theme in our sustainability work, and we have been striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a goal-oriented manner for years. To guide us in this work, we have calculated Marimekko's carbon footprint.
